Aurora Strings
About Us The second ensemble of JSE is Aurora Strings. It was formed to provide an opprotunity for more kids to learn ensemble skills. Also directed by Mr. Xia, Aurora Strings performs regularly in Juneau for music lovers from the Pioneer's Home to the Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival, Governor's Open House, Alaska Folk Festival, Juneau School District events, Concerts in the Park, and UAS Community Day. News June 2007 Aurora Strings will travel to the cities of Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai, China with their director, Guo Hua Xia, for a performance and cultural tour. On the tour, they will play at schools and public events, collaborate with young Chinese string players, visit ancient cultural sites, and forge lasting friendships. |
